WHAT IS IT?

SB2108 would require schools, universities, hospitals, social service agencies, and other organizations that provide “public benefits” to determine if each individual they serve is either a U.S. citizen or lawfully present in Tennessee. This information would be reported to the newly expanded TN Dept. of Homeland Security.

WHY IT MATTERS!

SB2108, as currently amended, would serve as a “trigger” bill to be activated if and when the Supreme Court reverses Plyler v. Doe and ends the practice of public education access for all children in the U.S.
