They Are Trying To Break Us Through Unremitting Acts Of ‘Inexcusable’
Just like Indivisible works by a linked, powerful network of uniquely individual groups with a unified goal of protecting democracy… the mesh that molds and supports that network is cities and towns like ours all across this country. The people… living our lives and feeling EVERY DAY the effects of the power hungry oligarchs and billionaires… seeing their hunger for MORE MORE MORE – weaken our communities week by week and month by month… leaving the people with LESS… AND LESS… AND LESS…
Watching our communities and our people suffer REAL hunger because of THEIR bottomless greed.
It’s times like this when… with all of our differences on so many levels… coming together in one unified voice has OVER AND OVER throughout the history of the great American experiment… brought the power back to the people.
I watch and I listen every day. I see and hear the battle for this nation’s cities and for our very soul as their GREED and their manipulation try to weaken our spirits by sheer exhaustion. EVERY DAY it’s something new. Something even more repulsive and repugnant than the day before.
And I understand those times when body and soul just can’t do any more. MY OWN team has watched me struggle with that roller coaster as the organizing has not only never ceased… but escalated and escalated at an unending scale.
But right now. These next 17 days (and the past few weeks!). I’m pushing like I’ve never pushed before. All of our team is. ALL of the democracy protecting teams across this nation we love SO MUCH.
Because we KNOW… THIS is the stretch that is our make or break. THIS is stretch that determines if enough people have the strength of will remaining to give us back one BRANCH or our government. That’s all we need to STOP this madness.
And all we’re asking of you… is to VOTE. To vote and to spread the word to EVERYONE you know that NOW is what it’s all been building up to.
Now I know the first question on a lot of people’s minds is, “What happens if they don’t accept the results of the election?”
Indivisible and its partners’ group leaders are coming together for an ‘election defense briefing’ this week, so Amanda and I will know a lot more then. But the one thing I CAN tell you right now… is to be ready to answer the call on or after Election Day to HIT THE STREETS if they decide to deny or defile the will of the people in any way. It will be UP TO US to empower our local ‘powers-that-be’ to hold the line and NOT RELINQUISH our systems.
Never forget! They can only take power if we give it to them!
