đșđž HOPE AND RECLAMATION đșđž
âOver the past few years, whenever I saw the American flag I didnât feel pride – I felt a sense of loss. It seemed like something that belonged to all of us had been claimed by a narrow group, and I struggled to recognize it as a symbol that represented me too. But yesterday changed all that.
At No Kings 3 in Knoxville, people were handing out American flags to everyone there. And in that moment, something shifted. Holding that flag again didnât feel complicated – it felt right. It felt like pride, like connection, like belonging. It reminded me that this symbol doesnât belong to any one group. It belongs to all of us.
Standing together, waving those flags, there was a shared sense of reclaiming something meaningful – our history, our hope, and our vision for the future. It was powerful. It was emotional. It felt like coming home.â ~ Lisa Henry, Knoxville
The message in Knoxville yesterday was clear⊠we reject this administrationâs cruelty and corruption.
But something else was also VERY clear – an energy of HOPE dominated the day. Because this administration is crumbling with every single day that passes, and itâs thanks to ALL of us and refusing to âstand back and stand byâ.
If youâve not seen Steve Pomerantzâs video sample of the day, itâs a must watch. And it perfectly captures everything that makes *our* No Kings SO Knoxville⊠scruffy, welcoming, eccentric, artsy, community driven, EVOLVING, and oh so passionate.
We shattered records across the country on March 28th â now we shatter expectations.
Soooo⊠whatâs next? Because we ALWAYS have a whatâs next!
On April 14th, weâre hosting an âafter partyâ. But itâs far from just an after party.
Weâre building strong relationships. Weâre expanding our teams. Weâre continually ramping up toward simple ways to plug into more direct, coordinated, and collective resistance.
Just need a hug? Yeeaahh⊠weâre ok if you just come for the hugs. Because hugs, handshakes, and human connection are a necessary part of resistance too!
And of course thereâll be pizza (with vegan / gluten free options!)

We know not everyone can make every protest or every meeting – and thatâs okay.
Making a donation is one powerful way of supporting our movement – fueling outreach, training, and coordination that brings more people in and keeps members engaged. Itâs one of the most direct and concrete ways of powering the work and helping make long-term change possible.
Our local lead organizer says sheâs been self employed for decades and ALWAYS spends her customersâ money like it was her familyâs money. We are committed to that same value with Indivisible Knoxville. We know in our bones that money donated is COMMUNITY money.

We each have an important role in this. Some of us show up in the streets. Some talk with friends and neighbors. Some share information online. Some contribute to our âhive mindâ. Some help us network by getting us in touch with the right people at the right times! Some support in other ways. It all matters. Thatâs how we build real power together.
So thank you to everyone who helps keep us powering this movement – in whatever way you can show up.
