Yesterday Congress passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (“ROAD” = Renewing Opportunity in the American Dream).
Then Trump refused to sign it – using it as hostage to get his SAVE America Act (which would disenfranchise millions of voters).
Congress can wait this out. If Trump hasn’t signed the bill within 10 days and Congress stays in session, it passes by default.
So why are we putting out a call to action?
Because that 10 day window doesn’t end until July 3rd, and the Senate is scheduled to go on recess on June 29th.
Call both of your Senators and tell them NOT to leave DC until after that 10 day window passes! (It’s the least they can do after the chaos they’ve put us through for the past 17 months.)

For years, housing costs have gone up while wages have not. Young people can’t afford to buy a home. Rent keeps rising. Large corporations have been buying up houses that used to go to families.
This Act won’t fix everything overnight, but it is a real step toward making housing more affordable. It helps build more homes, opens doors for first-time buyers, and pushes back against corporate investors buying up neighborhoods.
But mostly, it reminds us that change is still possible.
We need that hope right now. We need reasons to keep showing up, keep organizing, and keep believing that a better future is worth fighting for.
Both Senators voted for this bill. This is WINNABLE. We’re simply asking them to stay for the long haul so their vote wasn’t a waste!
In Hope,
