Being an elder I rely on Social Security. I worry, not only for others who rely on it, but their families as it really will have a ‘trickle down effect’ because many families will have to fill in the gaps for their parents and grandparents so they have food, shelter and access to medical care.

I agree. I have one child that could even afford to take care of us, and it would be a real burden on them as well as us. My husband is handicapped, so they would have to re-vamp their entire home to house us!
