The legislation is moving quickly for HB2439/SB2662, the Oral-Fluid DUI Testing and Evidence-Based Enforcement Safeguards Act. It goes before the Senate committee on Monday the 23rd and the House subcommittee on the 25th. We need people to help contact legislators as soon as possible.
These bills would add important evidence-based safeguards to DUI enforcement by requiring documented facts before oral-fluid screening is used, preventing punishment based only on an unconfirmed roadside test, and requiring confirmatory lab testing and other reliability protections.
