**Election Night Good News**
If you needed an infusion to keep you going (and trust me we’ve ALL been scraping the bottom of the hope barrel the past couple of months), we got it last night.
Because Democrats won across this country in a sweeping rejection of the Trump administration’s dastardly actions throughout this second term.
The Blue Tsunami is officially here — and it was a total rejection of Trump and MAGA across the country.
And this is just what we were able to compile tonight. We’re sure there are cities and states all over the country celebrating progressive wins just like Knoxville – where 4 out of 5 districts on the ballot voted for the progressive candidate. ‼️
Kansas Republicans dropped their push to follow in Texas’s footsteps and redraw the state’s congressional map.
Voters in Maine overwhelmingly REJECTED Question 1, a ballot measure the Republicans were pushing to eliminate most absentee ballots and have even more restrictive voter ID requirements.
Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayor election in a landslide. 🎉
In Pennsylvania, voters kept three incumbent Democrats on the state Supreme Court, preserving their party’s 5-2 majority.
In Georgia, two Democrats (Alicia Johnson & Peter Hubbard) FLIPPED 2 seats on the statewide public service commission.
VA Governor flips!! Abigail Spanberger will be the first woman governor in Virginia history, flipping the office from red to blue.
Democrats flipped over a dozen seats in the Virginia House of Delegate.
VA is now a Blue trifecta state!
Mikie Sherrill won the New Jersey Governor election. Her win shores up Democratic control of a state that has shown signs of shifting rightward in recent years. Sherrill, a former Navy helicopter pilot and four-term member of Congress, defeated Jack Ciattarelli, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump.
JD Vance’s half-brother lost by an overwhelming margin as he tried to become the mayor of Cincinnati. Mayor Aftab Pureval, the Democratic incumbent, wins reelection.
Democrat Corey O’Connor beat retired police officer and Republican Tony Moreno in the Pittsburgh mayoral race.
Jay Jones (D) beat incumbent Jason Miyares (R) in the Virginia Attorney General race. This is a FLIP.
Colorado voters approved two ballot measures to fund Colorado’s universal school meals program.
Democrat Johnny DuPree flipped a Republican-held Mississippi Senate district in a special election. His win imperils the Mississippi Senate GOP’s narrow supermajority.
California’s Prop 50 (Authorizes Temporary Changes to Congressional District Maps in Response to Texas’ Partisan Redistricting) passed!
