Good trouble being made at the Knoxville ICE office this morning under heartbreaking circumstances. Representatives from St James Episcopal, St Elizabeth Episcopal, and Indivisible Knoxville were there in support of our immigrant neighbors. We show neighborly support, serve free coffee and snacks, and hand out ‘Know Your Rights’ documentation.

ICE moved the official weekly check-in location for this region from here to Nashville last month without notifying those on the schedule. Every week 20-30 people drive up to 3 hours for their check-in, only to find out they now have to drive 3 hours further another day… IF they can find a way there at all.

Our team and several immigrants there for check-in were interviewed by both WBIR and the Knoxville News Sentinel today. We are so thankful for their presence and shining a light on the injustice of what is happening.
