Last night an appeals court once again said Trump’s executive order limiting birthright citizenship is unconstitutional and will remain blocked.
There was a mayoral election last week in Norman, Oklahoma, and the Democrats flipped and won the race by 26 POINTS. Oklahoma!
In a race for a state legislative seat in Georgia, democrat Nick Johnson won by a slim 46 votes. The Republican who lost the race had been challenging all kinds of votes, and a GA judge has come through and said this is over… the democrat won. Knowing our judges are still upholding election results will always be good news!
A federal judge blocked the Department of Justice from removing January 6 videos from a public database.
FIVE Republican senators publicly stated that the White House must follow judicial rules. This came after JD Vance’s text message where he said that a ruling didn’t matter… they’re gonna do what they want. (Of course all senators should come out and say you need to follow the rule of law… but in this day and age?)
Kansas was trying to ban gender affirming care for trans youth, and governor Laura Kelly (democrat) has officially vetoed the ban.
Trump lost his appeal to be able freeze federal grants and loans.
Trump fired a whole bunch of inspectors general (people placed in various departments in the federal government whose job is to look for and out any kind of corruption). Eight of them have filed a lawsuit, challenging Trump’s firing of them and the legality of him being able to do so.
19 states filed a lawsuit saying that the authority the White House gave Elon Musk and his DOGE department is unconstitutional.
Aaaand Mitch McConnell announced this week he will NOT seek reelection next year. Finally.
