On the day before our nation’s 249th birthday, our elected Representatives pulled off the big f*** up.
The bill Congress sent to Trump‘s desk yesterday afternoon was dripping with disdain for the poor, the working class, and the vulnerable and unlike any piece of legislation in our nation’s history.
And the breaks on social security and tip taxes they’re bragging about? Those only last for three years, while the harsh cuts to Medicaid and other programs won’t go into effect until after the midterms. This is political gaslighting at its finest – hoping folks will think, ‘See! That bill wasn’t so bad after all!’ until after the next election.
You know, and I know, that we have Congresspeople all over this country today with a pit in their bottom of their stomachs and asking themselves , “What have we done?”
I spoke directly with Tim Burchett Thursday morning only hours before the vote, and he sounded like a man on the run and on full defense.
He said he wasn’t feeling well.
Guilt is awfully rancid on one’s tummy and soul, Timmy.
So console yourself with the knowledge that today, on the 249th anniversary of the United States declaring its independence from Great Britain, our congresspeople will have to sit with their collective buyers remorse. Because they know… they KNOW… that they just wholesale sold this country out and betrayed everything our founding fathers built brick by intentional brick upon their own mass protest of ‘No Kings’ 249 years ago.
Take this holiday weekend to breathe, regroup, and spend time with family … there are big plans to crumble their pillars of support in the works SOON.
