HIGHLIGHT
Legal residents are being sent to foreign prisons without due process guaranteed by our constitution.
CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a Maryland father and a legal U.S. resident. Last month, ICE agents tore him away from his 5-year-old son in an IKEA parking lot. No warrant. No trial.
Then he was illegally deported to El Salvador, where he’s now locked inside one of the world’s most brutal maximum-security facilities.
The Supreme Court ruled unanimously — 9 to 0 — that the Trump administration must return Kilmar to the U.S.
And now? The administration is defying the highest court of the land, while spitting on the constitution.
This isn’t just a tragedy, it’s a five-alarm constitutional crisis. If this administration can rip families apart, break the law, and ignore the Supreme Court without consequences, then the rule of law is dead — and none of us are safe.
Kilmar’s case is horrifying, but not isolated. The numbers of contributing, legal members of our society who are being cruelly and unjustly removed from our country keep climbing.
On April 14th, live on camera, Donald Trump said he wanted to send “homegrowns” — U.S. citizens — to foreign prisons. If Congress lets this slide — if they don’t step in immediately to do all they can to bring Kilmar home and hold Trump accountable — then we could be entering a new era of unchecked, authoritarian power.
This is not LEFT or RIGHT, this is OUR CONSTITUTION at risk of crumbling under these abuses.
IN CONCLUSION
WHEREAS, YOU are an ELECTED representative FOR and BY the PEOPLE of Tennessee.
WHEREAS, the 14th AMENDMENT to the United States Constitution guarantees ALL people PRESENT in the United States their day in a court of the United States presided over by a duly authorized judge of the United States before depriving them of their 14th AMENDMENT RIGHTS to life, liberty, and property.
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE UNDERSIGNED, DEMAND you uphold your oath to defend our established Constitution.
AND THAT prior to any immigration action ALL PEOPLE in the United States MUST be afforded the legal access to which they are entitled – opportunity for legal representation, a speedy opportunity to answer to charges, an opportunity to appeal, and humane treatment while in custody.
FURTHERMORE, we DEMAND you exercise your CHECKS AND BALANCES authority to INVESTIGATE and END illegal data sharing between executive departments that has led to ILLEGAL profiling by race and targeted retribution on those who have exercised their 1ST AMENDMENT protected RIGHTS of opposition to the current administration.
FURTHERMORE, we DEMAND public ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of your AGREEMENT WITH and ACCEPTANCE OF your ARTICLE I RESPONSIBILITIES and your intent to pursue ACTION as instructed by the CONSTITUTION.
OR IMMEDIATELY RESIGN for failure to uphold your ARTICLE I RESPONSIBILITIES so that you may be replaced by someone who shall REPRESENT the WILL of the PEOPLE.
