Children are waking up to find a parent gone. Households are being pushed into crisis overnight. These are not isolated incidents—this is systemic violence, and it’s happening on our watch.\nThis Labor Day, Indivisible Knoxville is joining forces with Hola Lakeway to raise awareness and assist with direct support to families who have been torn apart and left children without their primary caregivers and earners, we are coming together as a community to demand justice—and to support those left behind.\n#SolidaritySeptember \nIn the spirit East Tennessee’s diverse, welcoming, and passionate volunteer heritage, our ACTION will be on Labor Day in reverence to immigrant families who have lost primary earners, but the fundraiser will be ongoing from now until the end of September.\n✨ WHY WE GATHER\n🔹 To stand in solidarity with immigrant workers and communities and to stand against the cruelty of ICE enforcement\n🔹 To lift up our shared moral call to love our neighbors\n🔹 To hold lawmakers accountable for cruel immigration policies\n🔹 To demand humane, just immigration policy grounded in dignity and compassion\n💞 WHY WE FUNDRAISE\nFamilies affected by ICE raids are struggling—many have lost not only a loved one but their primary means of survival. This fundraiser provides direct aid for:\n✔️ Rent and utilities\n✔️ Groceries and essential needs\n✔️ Legal representation\n✔️ Childcare and school support\nEvery dollar raised will go DIRECTLY to verified regional families impacted by raids.\nWhat You Can Do:\n✔️ Attend and amplify the cause\n✔️ Donate what you can (link on our website)\n✔️ Bring signs, your voice, and your support\n✔️ Share this event widely!\nLet’s turn our outrage into action and our compassion into concrete support.\nJoin us for a peaceful protest this Labor Day.\n🗓 Date: September 1st\n🕐 Time: 12pm to 2pm\n📍 Location:Starting in the event space and terraced lawn between the Henley Street bridge and One Riverwalk apartments (an email will be sent out to attendees with exact GPS information and photos), walking slowly and safely up to the Henley Street Bridge with our signs, then to Kerns Food Hall at 2pm for a fun and casual social gathering.\nOrganized by: Indivisible Knoxville in partnership with Hola Lakeway\n(There are 250 parking spaces at Kerns, with 750 overflow spaces at the Riverwalk Garage.)\n📢 How to Prepare for Your Event: ✅ Bring signs or props → Make your message visible!
